the bearded elevator boy and a silent conversation.

here is the unspoken dialogue between me and the bearded elevator boy.

boy:  (appears to have been waiting for the elevator to reach the 5th floor of the library for quite some time now)
me:  (approaches elevator, proceeds to wait with boy.)
-2 minutes later-
-still waiting-
boy:  *sigh*
me:  (uncomfortable, yet understanding smile)  maybe i should just take the stairs.
-1 minute passes-
me:  (ignoring the stairs idea.  continues to wait, hoping that boy will calm down.)
elevator:  *ding*  going down.
-boy and i enter the elevator-
boy:  (presses 1* button.)
me:  (presses nothing.)
boy:  finallly!
me:  (nod.)
elevator:  *ding* 4th floor...going down.
boy:  *sigh* OF COURSE! (frustrated laughter.)
me:  (roll eyes.  trying to match boy's anger as to make him feel more comfortable.)
-2 janitors and an extremely tall boy with a UFO hoodie (you:  what the heck is a UFO hoodie?) enter-
elevator:  *ding* 3rd floor...going down.
-small girl with read hair enters and presses the 2 button-
me:  (glance at boy whose impatience might be the cause of his mental breakdown, here between the 3rd and 2nd floor of the uvu library elevator.)
boy:  (crinkles nose and death glares toward innocent ginger.)
elevator:  *ding* second floor...going down.
-girl with black and blond hair enters.  silly boy enters behind her-
silly boy:  is this going up?
-nobody answers-
-silly boy exits the elevator just as the doors are about to shut-
boy:  really?!
me:  (dedicated stare into the abyss)
elevator:  *ding* first floor...going up.
-everyone exits-
me:  (finally away from the most impatient bearded boy of all time)
boy:  so...midterms.
me:  yeah.  no time to wait for the elevator but time to chat about midterms...okay.
boy: i'll be done soon.
me:  that's good!
boy:  yeah.  well...see ya.
me:  bye.

moral:  take the stairs.  it's good for you in more ways than one.

it's about time you know how curious i can get about people, places, and things.

my excuse for being so silly at blogging is a good one.  one that might make me look like a stalker.  one that might prove that i could possible maybe might be a little teeny tiny mini version of some sort of obsessive freak.  maybe you will want to stop reading my blog altogether and call the cops and have me arrested for being a psycho {does that happen...sure}. but maybe not.  i hope betting on the "maybe not" right now.

do i have you hooked or what?  school really is paying off.

i haven't been able to do homework for a few days.  something has been filling up my time.  and that something is this question:  are my two lit professors married?

i couldn't get that thought out of my head.  it haunted my every dream.  i am just a curious person boarder-lining on obsessive.  but here are the facts...and try to tell me you aren't insanely curious after reading them.  well are they or aren't they?!

  1. both teach literature.
  2. both teach literature at uvu.
  3. both teach literature at uvu on tuesdays and thursdays only.
  4. both wear cool glasses.
  5. both are young, hipster-y, urban-y kinds.
  6. {here is where it gets weird} both went to school on the east coast.
  7. both were editors on a literature magazine in college.
  8. both have this ---> {a} <---tattooed on their arm.
  9. both talk about nip/tuck a lot.
  10. both assigned ridiculously large textbooks with craziness written on the inside.
curious yet?

there is no other explanation for those similarities.  i've decided to tell myself and everyone else i know that they are in fact married {i even came up with stories about how they met and stuff like that} so that i can get on with my life and stop being so curious and crazy.

i would die if they ever were to stumble upon such stalkerness.  i'd have to drop out of school, move, and do nothing with my life in return.

now you know.
no hurt feelings if you are suddenly really really uncomfortable reading my blog now...

my life is {above} average.

we all know about this right?
tres amusant, non?
i feel like those stories came from my mouth,
because odd, awkward, silly things
happen to me basically ever day.
today's focus...
the uvu shuttle.
i ride the shuttle.  all the time.  it makes me feel like i live in a big city where public transportation is the norm.  this is where the majority of my bits come from.  the most interesting people ride the shuttle {another reason why i ride} and the most priceless moments happen inside that wolverine green vehicle.  today, however, there was an abnormal amount of odd riding in the shuttle.
  • every morning the shuttle driver, who is always wearing sunglasses and looks about the age of my great grandparents, listens to country legends one oh seven point five.  i hate country.  and the hate for it grows more every morning.  my hate for that station shrunk a size when this came blaring out of the speakers today "happy straw wrapper appreciation day!"  huh?
  • the bus driver, shades is the name, is on a tight schedule.  at least he drives the shuttle as if he is.  usually he hits curbs, exceeds the limit of speed for such a beastly automobile, cuts in front of people on the roundabout, and today he added to his list of wild shuttle operating.  as a student who was talking on his cell phone while carrying one of those ridiculous backpacks with wheels {come on man, its a couple of books not your vacation suitcase}, yes carrying not pulling, was trying to exit the shuttle at his stop.  it took him some time to get from the back of the shuttle to the door due to his large baggage and cell phone distraction, not to mention all of the people entering the shuttle.  apparently shades thought wheels {man trying to exit shuttle} was taking to long to get off so he shut the doors on him mid-exit.  that upset wheels.  so much so that he tossed his bag out the door {something magnificent must be in that case since he saved it from the closing doors} as he fell to the floor of the uvu-mobile and shouted "i must get off here!"  everyone tried to get shades attention away from country legends and on to wheels who was fuming mad.  eventually he noticed, opened the doors for a split second, and proceeded to anger the surrounding cars with his terrible shuttle skills.
  • a lot of creppin' {flirting, hitting on, ect} goes on around utah county, and especially in the shuttle.  maybe since the seats are made for tiny bums so everyone basically sits atop of each other for the time spent on the shuttle, that triggers the fellas to creep.  i noticed a particularity interesting run in with a creep and his victim today.  the convo went  a little like this...
creeper:  "hey...you are in my english class."
victim:  "no i'm not."
{they didn't even so much as glance at each other for the remainder of the ride.  even when they both got off at the same stop and i assume walked into the same class.  the same english class, that is.}

uvu.  i love you.

41 days and 1 awkward situation.

i am not usually one who listens to christmas music the day after halloween.  or put up christmas decorations in october.  or watch it's a wonderful life any other time than the month of december.
but this year
i can't help myself!
going to the recently decorated university mall this morning didn't help.  already finished making my chirstmas list didn't help.  buying natalie's christmas present didn't help.  and today's blizzard really pushed me over the edge.  not that thanksgiving isn't a holiday dream come true, but christmas is so close i can smell it coming my way.  41 days, my lovlies.

p.s. today at the mall i saw mim's mom and sister at the gap {don't ask me how i knew it was them, i am already embarrassed enough that i blog stalk}even though i had already made my way through that store i went back in anyways.  after awkwardly pretending to be very interested in buying a sliky, red nightgown and debating whether or not i should tell them that i worship their daughter/sister{who i have never met, only stalked for years}i thought this is very weird that i am following these people.  and then i left, feeling like i just saw brad and angelina.
