future mr. paige.

dear future mr. paige,
please wear cool shoes.  i like taking pictures of feet and i don't want to see any skater shoes or flip flops amidst all of our other great shots of each other.

dear future mr. paige,
let our love be like this song.  i can't believe i just said that, but i really love that song.

dear future mr. paige,
i promise to not neglect you like i have been neglecting this blog, my other love.

sew on patches to all you tear

dear future mr. paige,
please make me as happy as my parents have been for the last 25 years.  let's be as fun as they are and go on dates every weekend.  and let's have as cute of kids as they did.  and please be as good to me as my dad is to my mom.  let's have just as much fun weeding the garden or cleaning the house as my parents do.  and remember to remember what i'm going to wear on our first date and remind me about it 25 years later, like my dad did the other day.  and tell our kids how cool i am, like my dad told me about my mom and some red shoes she wore once. and i promise to be home when you get home from work every night, just like my mom does for my dad.  oh and let's go to europe, all expenses paid, like my parents are doing in september, but let's not rub it in our daughters face and make her as jealous as i am.  just promise to take me to the temple and love me for eternity, just like mom and dad.
love,
me
{happy anniversary, mom and dad!}

when i die.

so i know this thought is a tad morbid and maybe not "blog kosher" but i need to have it on record so my future spawn will know how i want to be remembered once i pass on.

{thank you mr and mrs beesley for letting me borrow your headstone.}
this is what i want my headstone to look like.
it's just a slab of granite
{i like to pretend it is leftovers from the salt lake temple but i know i am mistaken}
with cool font
a great quote from my favorite man
and the best part is the emblem at the top.
for anyone familiar with the salt lake temple
and has enough super vision to see what it is
will recognize it.
it is the doorknob to the salt lake temple.
and it is so great.
so future mr. paige,
i ask you:
is it okay if our mortal bodies lay under this
once we pass on
and spend eternity together?
i hope so.
because i have already decided.

p.s. happy memorial day...yesterday.

month of love and birthday.

i have learned to love reading.
i read
at work
at school
at home
in bed
at the gym{which is more difficult than previously imagined.}
or whenever else i have a chance.
sometimes {like today for example} i have to work on sundays.
i am always scheduled during church.
so while i sit at a desk and stare at a wall
my roommates are all being enlightened and stuff.
then i feel guilty.
so since i can't quit my job
meaning i can't always make it to church
i bring church to work with me.
{wait...that sounds weird}
translation:
i bring church books with me to work.
so that way i can fulfill my occupational duties
while being spiritually uplifted.
score.
the book of the day
is standing for something
by gordon b. hinckley.
this book {which is fabulous}
discusses "10 neglected virtues
that will heal our hearts and homes."

sidenote:
the only thing i like about february is my birthday.
{which is thursday if i haven't been talking to you recently and happened to bring it up.}
everything else about "the month of love" is heartbreaking and
really rough on my self esteem.
love.  lame.

ironically.
the first "neglected virtue" is
love.
once again, gordonbee {what i like to call my favorite prophet, but in the most respectful way possible.}
shared some beautiful insights.

so only because i read this today
and it happens to be around
hallmark's and hershey's
favorite holiday....

"love is the security for which children weep, the yearning of youth, the adhesive that binds marriage, and the lubricant that prevents devastating friction in the home; it is the peace of old age, the sunlight of hope shining through death."

"ignorant people are always saying, 'i wonder what he sees in her,' not realizing that what he sees in her
(and what no one else can see) is the secret essence of love."

"love is the only force that can erase the differences between people or bridge the chasms of bitterness."

"love is not an investment; it is an adventure."

 feelin' the love?
i am.
thanks again, hinckley.
oh and good luck to
future mr. paige
in advance.
p.s. speaking of love.  i LOVE this.
{my handsome grandpa jack
with the sweetest little note
to grandma.}

ma famille.

how beautiful is this...

 "Mama’s name is Harriet, Daddy’s name is Melvin.  They met when Mama was in a car with some friends and the car tipped over.  Daddy came along and helped her out of the car and squeezed her hand.  She said to her friends that she was going to marry him—and she did."

true story.
written by my grandma.
of how my great-grandparents met.
so future mr. paige, take note,
because when we meet i expect
nothing less than this.
