graduation day.

{that's me...in the white cap.}

did you know that in high school
i was secretly obsessed with becoming
a journalist?
so obsessed in fact that i
joined the newspaper staff at
school and {thanks to my cool name}
received my very own monthly column
page by paige.
clever, right?
good thing i have that name
...or there was no way i was going
to write for the school paper,
let alone have my own column!
this here was the last one i wrote.
it's silly.
but i still get a little sad reading it
now.
a full year later.
high school was a good time.

class of 2009.
old news.
sadly.
but...
yay for the
class of 2010!
you did it!!

auf weidersehen good-bye.

the a.c.t {yeah it still gives me the chills thinking about it too} is a big deal.  right?
i knew that.  i knew that it was a big deal that deserved to be taken seriously.
did that change anything?  no.
i didn't prepare the way that i should've.
i didn't study good enough. {excuse me...i didn't study well enough}.
i didn't sleep the night before, and this is why...
adventures are a big deal to my high school friends.
our weekend was not complete unless we did something thrilling
like being chased around the slc cemetery by middle aged women
or seeing how long we could sit in a dark, scary tunnel before crying.
{true stories.}
the night before the big test was absolutely no exception.
what was on the agenda, you ask?
driving zeek's dad's somewhat run down car
up a forbidden dirt hill
lined with no trespassing signs.
because my parents raised me right
{and i know that they are almost the only people who are reading this right now}
i urged the group to obey the signs and get away from the forbidden hills.
but they didn't listen.
they didn't listen until the poor white car started smoking then slowly came to a stop,
on top of hill.
next to a "no trespassing or the cops will hunt you down and gut you like a fish" sign.
minutes away from curfew.
"please tell me that is dust and not smoke."said zeek.
but nobody told him, because it was in fact smoke, not dust.
we were stranded.
and i was officially late for curfew the night before the act.
but like always we figured it out, got away, and laughed about it all the way home.
...until the a.c.t. started a mere 4 hours later.

{pointing to our boy in mississippi.}

here's what i'm getting at.
zeek.  mr. adventure
has officaially started the biggest adventure of his life yesterday.
and i could not be more proud of him.
jackson, mississppi, take care of my zeeky for me?
 {zeeky and me.}
p.s. yes, as a matter of fact i did
see zeek's family at brick oven pizza
right after they dropped him off.
and yes i think that they thought we
followed them around all day.
{i swear we didn't!}

matchmaker.

in high school i made a lot of lists.
{top 10 best places to hide from the hall monitors, teachers who look like space jam characters, ect...}
but my favorite list to make was
top 10 should be couples.
well i have let the list continue with me to college
and i attempted to make a perfect match today at work.
jason, my fellow Marriott worker, matched with my roommate.
so, as all good match makers should do, i showed him a picture of his lucky match.
but his eye was stuck on my girl natalie.
"oh," i said, match making wheels turning, "she's single too."
"she is very attractive," jason said.
"let me show you a better picture," i said.
i quickly reviewed all my blog post searching for a picture of my beautiful bestie.
but this is too far away
i know for a fact she wanted to kill me when i posted this picture.
and we all know this doesn't give her the justice she deserves.
so i dedicated this post to the beautiful natalie.
and jason, this is what she really looks like...

{my all time favorite.  prom 2009.  we were basically each others dates. can you tell?}
{drill banquet.  she basically made the dress that she is wearing that you will just have to take my word that it was awesome.}
{us. being rommates. it's what we do.}
{my second all time favorite.  natalie working.  how classy is she?}
natalie.
i love you.
and so does everyone else.

drill team.

this time last year
one thing was on my mind.
state drill competition.
not because i was excited to compete
but because state meant drill was over!
no more
early mornings
ankle weights
tight spandex outfits
push ups
smelling like a sewer every morning
tardy scares
calls to mom to bring my stuff that i forgot
all day competitions
loosing to hillcrest
ect.
but now
one year and
one million pounds
later
{i can't believe i am about to say this}
i am jealous of the c-h-i-r-o-n-s.

tomorrow they will be competing
at region
to qualify for state.
and they are going to ROCK!
i feel it.
and i will be in the stands
cheering my guts out for them
while secretly envying them at the same time.
good luck team!
and for old time's sake...
c-h-i-r-o-n-s
we are the best!

{the favorites...}

{my own personal fan club}

{catching a little shut eye before winning nationals!}

make us proud, lovlies!
