communication.

i think my subconscious is trying to tell me something. i have picked up a napping habit. while i sleep, i have the greatest adventures, mostly terrifying, but still great. all of these things happened to me via dream in the past 24 hours...

  • my dad and i went to disneyland. just us. well, my mom was there but said that her ideal vacation was sleeping (i should've known then that it was all a dream).
  • dad had to go to the bathroom. he took so long that disneyland closed and i was so excited to sleep in the happiest place on earth.
  • my dreams came crashing down when i realized that disney is one step ahead of people like me who has a weird obsession with accidentally getting locked in malls, resorts, and grocery stores overnight. apparently disneyland sends out ravenous monster dogs to hunt down the nightly intruders. we were caught and i was mega-bummed.
  • it was summer. but there was a major snowstorm. i worked for my uncle tony, who in dreamland is a crazy, hitler-esque boss figure that allows no time for weakness.
  • i almost died driving to their house in the storm. in fact, there was a time in my dream reality that i accepted the fact that i was going to die and i left my car slip and slide all over, until i shook myself from that and decided to LIVE! (i believe that was inspired by gravity...remember? when she gives up then snaps out of it so she can continue to destroy just about every man made thing in space?)
  • when i made it to their house, scary, nazi camp, boss version of uncle tony was leaving for the beach (the beach? yeah.) with his family and i was supposed to stay behind and get all cinderella (the maid kind, not the princess kind) up in their house.
should i be taking more risks? having more fun? or will my dreams fill that level of life enough? don't know. but i will keep up the naps then let you know.

i see the future.

{hyrum the hero.}

i had a dream that i was driving.
with my new bezzies.
and the breaks went out.
and that is all that i will share.
because the rest is sad.
and it got me thinking...
i am a helpless, unwise driver.
so all day long i was so worried
about my brakes going out
my tires falling off
my engine exploding
aliens coming to kidnap me
so i shared this burden with my girl ally.
as i was telling her
in my car
about my paranoia
my tires sounded like i was
dragging a kitten behind me in my car.
but in fact
that sound
the dying, dragging on pavement kitty sound
was my tire.
my flat tire.

but i live in byu housing.
therefore
there are always fine gentlemen
waiting around
for this exact scenario to occur.
they saved me.

nightmares.

{249 days until i can squeeze, push, laugh at, watch seinfeld with, this girl whenever i want.}

i have crazy dreams.  really.  every single night it's like i am at the cinema.  last night was no exception.  but instead of dreaming about my knee yarn or flying, i dreamt about my sister wightman.  it started with my girl natalie giving me a makeover.  i ended up looking like i walked out of the breakfast club but i am sure in dreamland, that is hip.  my dad came in and said "courtney is coming home soon."  i said "i know, i'll hurry."  natalie went home, or to area 51 for a little 80s dancing.  my dad returned.  he said "courtney is home."  i said, "what about the airport?  i made a welcome home sign and everything!  aren't we supposed to pick her up."  dad said, "she took a bus from the airport."  i was disapointed, because, if you remember correctly, i have been thinking about waiting at the airport, cool sign in hand, and watching my awesome, successful, beautiful sister ride down the escalator.  but in dreamland, this was not so.  i headed down the stairs to greet my sister, who was plopped in the luv sac and watching tv.  {weird}. i said "hey" in which she replied "oh, hey."  i said,
welcome home." she said, "thanks."  and then i woke up.  heartbroken.  worst dream ever.  good thing that is nowhere near how epic her homecoming will be.  i can't wait for it.  oh and when i told my dad about it today, he had a silly thought.  that thought being that he'd be the first to hug her when she gets down the escalator.  oh dad, you are one funny guy...dead wrong...but funny.
