some tips.

first of all...  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  sure, this holiday is fantastic, but i know how hard it can get as well.  so much food, loads of football, macy's day parade, christmas kick off, nap time--all can be overwhelming.  this is how i get through it all.
  1. drink lots of water the day before.  not only is this good for you to do everyday but this is especially important the day before today.  water stretches the stomach, therefore, you can fit more in there.  so go ahead, have another slice of pumpkin pie.
  2. eat as much as you can, but only when dinner is served.  don't waste all the extra space you made in your tummy on lucky charms or turkey scraps.  save all the room you can for the feast.  drink more water if you get hungry, that way you'll feed the growling monster inside of you while expanding stomach space.
  3. be first in line.  you don't want to miss the good stuff.  push the elders out of the way and use the excuse "i'm a growing kid!" if you have to.
  4. don't forget that thanksgiving comes and in a second it's gone.  what other day is it not only okay, but expected to eat so much you want to die?  live it up.  have another helping!  who likes leftovers anyhow?
  5. after the feast, watch pieces of april, dan in real life, and planes, trains and automobiles to be festive.  trust me.  these movies are divine.
  6. take a napblack friday is only hours away and if there is anything better than a day dedicated to eating then it is bargains!
  7. if you are a health freak (like i obviously am not) play a little football with the family outside.  that is so festive you'll love it.  trust me.  and not to mention it will get you more hyped up for the holy war coming soon.
  8. eat more pie before it is put away.  once i thought i was too full for a slice of french silk pie.  i was wrong.  when i went back for some it was gone!  never make that mistake.
  9. once the sun sets on thanksgiving it is officially the christmas season (aka the most wonderful time of the year) so be excited.  play christmas music, put on santa hats, get out the decorations, give everyone a copy of your christmas list, whatever it takes for you to get into the holiday spirit.
  10. give thanks.  tell your family you love them and say what you are grateful for.  because that it what today is about.  well...that and food.
